Policy

I felt like a change of pace from the Biblical word-crunching, it seems. Here are two poems, the first from Google’s much talked about newly unified privacy policy, the second from Facebook’s always talked about Data Use Policy.

For whatever reason, I enjoyed both of these quite a lot. Might have to make a series out of this, because apparently, I like to do that.

(Also, I hadn’t looked at jGnoetry since it was pretty fresh & less polished, and it is now considerably more impressive than I recall. Good show, edde!)

Anyway, the poems.

The Facebook one is killer. “Change is our friend. / Change is your friend too.” FTW. I had to look and make sure that wasn’t actually a phrase on the Facebook Data Use Policy.

    Glad you like jGnoetry!

“A cookie of the we” is my new mantra.

Thanks, guys! Like I said, these were a lot of fun to write; something about the casually domineering voice of the sources (with the thoroughly enjoyable silliness of “cookie” tossed in repeatedly) really made for far more interesting results than I anticipated. I’ve done a couple more since, but they’re not quite as good.
