fairfax and wilshire

June 23, 2013

Christopher Wallace, one the most brilliant lyricists of recent times, was killed on the corner of Fairfax and Wilshire back in ’97.

I always wanted to go there and generate poetry from his lyrics somehow; maybe the old Dada “words in a paper bag,” I thought. I was driving through that intersection today, and wasn’t able to arrange it, but I did manage to pay respects with the most recent poem I had generated from his words. (I think on the exact spot he was shot, even.)
